Developer portal accounts and roles
The enhanced roles and access within the developer portal empower users to efficiently manage resources and collaborate effectively. By adhering to the specified guidelines during account creation, partners can ensure a streamlined experience while accessing users, roles, and the associated privileges.
This page provides an overview of these roles and their corresponding access levels. In addition, we outline the process for partners to create company accounts, ensuring seamless access to users and roles.
Partner account creation
When you first sign up on the Developer Portal, you will be prompted to complete the Your Account tab.
Keep the following information in mind when creating your account:
- Account Type: Choose the Company account type if you are signing up as part of an organization.
- Company Name: Make sure the Company Name you enter during account creation is consistent across all roles. Discrepancies such as "ACME" vs. "ACME, Inc" will not register as the same company for associated roles.

Accurate and consistent spelling is imperative. In case of errors, reach out to a Support Administrator for assistance.
Invite team members
If you have a Company account, Administrators can invite new team members directly from the developer portal instead of waiting for them to sign up.
To invite a user:
- Sign in to your account and go to More > Users.
- Scroll down and select Invite User.
- Enter the user's first name, last name, and email address.
Sonos sends the invitation to the address you provide. You can track the status of pending invitations and assign user roles from the same Users dashboard.
The first account created for a distinct company is the Administrator account.
Afterwards, every other account associated with that company either requires approval by the Administrator or is added by Administrator invitation.
Administrators can check the Users tab to invite new users, approve or deny requests, and assign roles.
